il Cambiamento delle Stagioni

Monforte Belltower in Spring

We haven’t posted for more than a month now but life in Monforte continues a pace. Spring (La Primavera – it sounds so much more exotic in Italian) has arrived and we are currently blessed with our second set of Australian visitors -Jo’s Mum and Dad are here for nearly a month!

We loved the Monforte winter and we were fortunate this year that the snow stayed on the ground just long enough for us to revel in the new experience but not long enough for the novelty to wear off.

With the arrival of spring, the days are getting longer and warmer, flowers are blooming in the gardens and on the roadside, and the grey-brown hills and vineyards suddenly are vibrant green and peppered with explosions of white and pink blossoms.

The change in season has been stark and beautiful, and continues to be a source of amazement and discovery for us. In this post we thought we would share some photos from the month of March that give you a feel for how stunning the Spring is here. Enjoy!

  1. A stark contrast to the Australian Eyre Peninsula, although Autumn stubbles and hues picked up by very changable weather colours are the order of the day.
Great to see the new pics and Spring bursting into view. What an experience to see such a change. I was too much in the desert to see the real changes in NM, but saw enough to apreciate some of what you are showing. Enjoy.

  2. Hi family – another stunning collection of photos – expect a published version soon! oxox p
